You’re probably quite familiar with Google Street View, the Google Maps feature that lets you virtually journey through streets around the world. What you might not realise is that Google Street View contains some strange, funny and utterly brilliant sights, all captured by Google’s Street View cars as they drove around capturing the photographs used in Street View.
Here, we bring you 19 of the best Google Street View sights, from a rainbow to a field full of scarecrows and the happiest murderer we’ve ever seen. We’ve also thrown in some pretty awesome bonus Easter eggs, including a stroll through the magical Diagon Alley and a visit to Batman’s Batcave and Dr Who’s Tardis. We’ve left out the bums, but trust us, there are hundreds of them on Google Street View. Thankfully, Google has gone to the trouble of blurring them out so we don’t have to see them in detail!
Sadly, Google has also blurred out some of the old, classic Google Street View hoaxes and staged photos, including one that apparently showed a baby being born on the street (it was confirmed as a fake) and a pair of Final Fantasy warriors battling with swords in Pittsburgh.
